: Mr. & Mrs. Erik & Kristin Hugstad

11.21.09
The Hacienda
Santa Ana, CA

This post has been a long time coming! I met Kristin at our church a few years back and when I saw her knew that I wanted to be the one to photograph her wedding. Kristin, despite being a Bruin (sorry, had to get that in :D) is an absolutely wonderful woman with a heart of gold! She is involved with a wonderful organization called Women Helping Women and is of course, an all around stellar woman. And when I first met Erik, it was for the family session we shot last year and just the interaction between Erik & Kristin & the family was amazing and you could just see the love, the smiles, the all around amazingness that was occurring. Erik is hilarious and these two together for the engagement session was a blast!!

The day was amazing! Myself and the uber talented & awesome Erin Pifer met up with the girls at the Orange Circle while the amazing & also uber talented Gabriel Ryan met up with the guys at the Big A (or Angel Stadium of Anaheim, but Big A sounds so much better!) The venue was perfect, the flowers amazing, the DJ was so much fun and had some great music (loudest sing a long to "Don't Stop Believin' " I've ever heard) and of course, the beautiful people - well, they were all amazing!

It was an honor to be there for the day and an honor & huge mahalo to Gabriel & Erin for coming out too. We danced, we grooved, we captured awesome :D

Kristin is a stunning bride, to say Erik had his breath taken away is like saying the sun is mildly warm, and I think you see why...

: IM - beginnings

IM 2009 013, originally uploaded by Parris Studios:.

So back on the October 22nd, I went out for a little personal project shoot. I decided it was time to turn the camera on me for no other reason than to just document me. I want this to be a personal project, and do pictures for everything that makes me who I am, trying to be a bit reflective and honest. Most all of you have seen the goofball side, and there are still a few pictures in there, but this is more about experimenting with the camera, trying different things and trying to convey who I am (or IM) through self portraits.

I'm still working on what it will look like when it's done, how I exactly want to do it, but I figure a road trip is as good as any time to start. So, here it is. A few of my dad in there, because he of course is part of who IM and more will come into play around Christmas when I get to see my family again! Stoked!

Here it is, IM - beginnings. a work in progress. just like me.
